Lorestan University and National Iranian Oil Engineering and Construction Company: A "Sustainable Link"

With the aim of expanding scientific, applied, research, and technological collaborations, a joint meeting was held between the University of Lorestan and the National Iranian Oil Engineering and Construction Company; a meeting that both sides assessed as an effective step towards a deeper connection between the university and the country's oil industry.
According to the Public Relations of the University of Lorestan, this meeting was held on Wednesday, December 5th of this year, with the presence of Dr. Mehrdad Dadistani, President of the University of Lorestan, Dr. Hossein Hatami, Vice President for Research and Technology of the University, Dr. Bahram Barzgar, Head of the Research and Technology Department of the National Iranian Oil Engineering and Construction Company, and a group of faculty members in the meeting hall of the University of Lorestan's presidency.
Clarification of Capacities and Priorities
At the beginning of this meeting, the capabilities, infrastructure, and scientific, research, and laboratory capacities of the University of Lorestan were introduced.
The managers of the National Iranian Oil Engineering and Construction Company also explained their research priorities, technological needs, and some challenges in their field of work.
Applied Research with a "Problem-Solving" Approach
Dr. Mehrdad Dadistani, President, and Dr. Hossein Hatami, Vice President for Research and Technology of the University of Lorestan, emphasized the following points:
_ University research should be prepared with the aim of solving the problems of the province and the country. Research should be applied and community-oriented.
_ The University of Lorestan is striving to achieve an entrepreneurial and skill-based university and is trying to expand its applied collaborations with the industries of the province and the country.

_ The necessity for industries to benefit from the scientific capacities of the faculty members of the University of Lorestan.
Strengthening the Convergence of the Three Pillars of Government, Industry, and University
Dr. Bahram Bozorgar, Head of the Research and Technology Department of the National Oil Engineering and Construction Company, also emphasized several issues:
_ The relationship between the University of Lorestan and the National Iranian Oil Engineering and Construction Company should be operational, applied, and sustainable.
_ The important role of universities in research and development to solve or reduce the country's problems.
_ The three important pillars of government, industry, and university should be alongside each other with a synergistic approach and help each other to overcome challenges.
_ A desirable university is a university that is entrepreneurial, industry-oriented, and skill-creating.
_ Supporting the formation and strengthening of joint specialized working groups.
Meeting Resolutions: From Research Projects to Study Opportunities
In another part of the meeting, both sides agreed to expand cooperation in the following areas:
_ Implementation of joint research and technological projects.
_ Supporting theses and doctoral dissertations related to oil industry issues.
_ Defining specialized internship courses for students.
_ Providing study opportunities for faculty members in the company.
_ Exchange of experience and the creation of scientific mechanisms for a sustainable connection between the university and the industry.
Visit of the University's Laboratory Capabilities
In the continuation of this meeting, the delegation of the National Iranian Oil Engineering and Construction Company visited the central laboratory of the University of Lorestan.
Experts from this scientific center explained the "high-tech" facilities and equipment, the functions, and the laboratory capacities; infrastructures that can be an important support for future collaborations in industrial and technological projects.
This meeting was evaluated as one of the strategic programs of the University of Lorestan in the path of applying research and the university's entry into solving the country's major issues, and it is planned that specialized and technical meetings will be held in the continuation of this cooperation.
It is worth mentioning that the National Iranian Oil Engineering and Construction Company is responsible for implementing infrastructure projects in the country's oil and petrochemical industry.
