Oct 27, 2025

On the first day of Passive Defense Week (October 26 to November 1, 2025), Lorestan University took the first step towards free and universal education on health, safety, and environment (HSE) standards by holding a training workshop on "Establishing a Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) System."

According to the Public Relations of Lorestan University, this training workshop was held by the Central Laboratory of Lorestan University (affiliated with the Vice-Chancellor for Research and Technology), and was taught by Ms. Hananeh Bahmanian, a certified expert and HSE representative.

The aim of this program is to create a platform for public education in the field of safety and health, increase specialized knowledge, and promote a culture of risk prevention in scientific and university environments.

In this course, which is recognized as the first stage of HSE training at Lorestan University, an interactive session was held between the instructor and the participants - including experts from specialized laboratories, staff, and graduate students.

The workshop instructor, while presenting introductory HSE topics, taught the principles of safety in laboratory environments, the classification of incidents, prevention strategies, and response patterns in critical situations.

In this regard, Dr. Ali Gholamifard, Head of the Central Laboratory of the University, while appreciating the presence of staff and students, said: "Each of us should consider ourselves as ambassadors of safety and health in the university; the transfer of experience and training in this field is a collective responsibility. The loss of health of any member of the university means the loss of a large part of our hope and social capital, therefore, we must take training and prevention seriously before an incident occurs."

He added, referring to the importance of proactive measures: "In the path of safety, we must take precautions in advance; we must address the situation before it occurs."

Based on the announcement of the Central Laboratory, these workshops are planned to continue in the form of a series of specialized courses with diverse educational content to provide the ground for the complete and comprehensive establishment of a comprehensive HSE system in the university.

The launch of the HSE public education program at Lorestan University can be considered in line with strengthening the passive defense infrastructure in scientific environments.
