A National Virtual Conference Commemorating the Anniversary of Hakim Esmail Jorjani's Birth and National Laboratory Day was held, hosted by Lorestan University.

According to the Public Relations Department of Lorestan University, April 19th has been designated as National Laboratory Day, and on this occasion, the Iranian Laboratory Research Association, in collaboration with the Iranian Scientific Laboratories Network (SHA'A) and hosted by Lorestan University, held a virtual conference to commemorate this day.

Dr. Ali Nazari, President of Lorestan University and Head of the Basij of Professors Organization of Lorestan Province, in his speech at the conference, explained the importance of the activities of Hakim and physician, Esmail Jorjani, and clarified that he had been prominent from two aspects: material (laboratory) and spiritual (ethics, wisdom, and mysticism).

Dr. Nazari considered the laboratory system as a discovering and revealing system that plays an influential role in the advancement of research and technology based on knowledge.

The President of Lorestan University also explained that Lorestan province has abundant elite capacities and extensive material capacities, and the laboratory system should be used in line with paying attention to these capacities and improving the indicators of regional and provincial progress.

Dr. Nazari also pointed out that, with the efforts made, the position of the central laboratory of Lorestan University is among the top laboratories of the Ministry of Science, and the managers and experts of the laboratory system should be appreciated on Laboratory Day.

In this national virtual conference, Hojjatoleslam Dr. Habib Hatami-Kan Kaboud, Head of the Representative Office of the Supreme Leader in the Universities of Lorestan Province, in his speech, citing the teachings of the Holy Quran, considered the laboratory system as one of the important tools of knowledge and understanding in the discussions of experimental and sensory sciences.

He called for more support for the university laboratory system so that the tools of experimental and research knowledge and understanding for the advancement of society and the country would be improved.

Hojjatoleslam Dr. Hatami-Kan Kaboud also provided explanations about the difference between Western scientism and scientism in the religion of Islam; including that in Islam, scientism and the acquisition of science and knowledge should be accompanied by a monotheistic view so that a person can progress both in terms of science and knowledge and conquering various peaks, and also in terms of behavior, beliefs, a religious, monotheistic, and God-believing person.

Therefore, acquiring science and knowledge in Islam is accompanied by revelation, monotheism, and religious knowledge, which is different from the Western view.

Dr. Mehdi Eslam Panah, Vice President and Head of the National Standards Organization of Iran, in his speech at this national virtual conference, spoke about the importance of the two wings of the university and industry for the development and progress of the country.

He stated that the university laboratory system of the country should expand its practical relations with the country's industrial system.

Dr. Eslam Panah explained that the research and technology departments of the country's industries should expand their bilateral cooperation with the departments of the laboratory system.

The Head of the National Standards Organization of Iran explained that research and experiments should be carried out based on the necessary standards, and the standardization system and the improvement of standard indicators should be given more attention.

He stated that the way to progress the country is to pay attention to knowledge-based issues, and this is where the importance of the activities of knowledge-based companies, the university system, and standard variables becomes clear.

Dr. Eslam Panah explained that technology, knowledge-based economy, and entrepreneurship are institutionalized in society when we can pay attention to the standards of each field, and research and studies are also of a practical, standard type, and in line with innovation to improve efficiencies and productivity.

He explained that standardization, productivity, efficiency, and information exchange based on research, investigation, and experimentation are all interconnected elements for the growth and progress of the country in all fields.

Dr. Peyman Salehi, Deputy Minister of Science, Research and Technology, in his speech at this national virtual conference, explained the importance of laboratory activities, knowledge-based companies, and the commercialization of products.

Dr. Salehi stated that we should be able to provide a balance between basic research and practical issues and commercialization.

That the experiments and research are of a practical type and, in accordance with the observance of the standard system, reach the stage of product production and commercialization.

He demanded that the equipment of the country's laboratories always be of the latest and newest equipment so that more effective and practical experiments can be performed, and in this regard, it is necessary to prepare and implement a special planning program for the purchase of the country's laboratory equipment.

He explained that Lorestan province has diverse capacities such as agriculture and animal husbandry, and the provincial university laboratory system should be in accordance with the needs and capacities of the province so that the connection between the university and society expands in the path of improving development indicators.

The Deputy of Research and Technology of Lorestan University explained that, fortunately, the central laboratory of Lorestan University is currently on the list of the top 10 laboratories, which is due to the efforts made by the managers and experts of the central laboratory of Lorestan University and the support of the university's management team for these efforts.
