Preliminary Meeting for the National Laboratory Day Commemoration Conference Held/ Lorestan University to Host the Meeting

The 30th of Farvardin has been designated as National Laboratory Day and commemorates the birth anniversary of Hakim Jorjani.

According to the Public Relations Department of Lorestan University, a preliminary meeting for the National Laboratory Day conference was held virtually, hosted by Lorestan University, with a speech by Dr. Ya'qub Fathollahi Nanneh-Karan, Director General of the Office of Support and Research Affairs of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology.

Dr. Ali Nazari, President of Lorestan University and Head of the Basij Organization of Professors of Lorestan Province, also attended and spoke at this preliminary meeting.

The main conference will be held on the 30th of Farvardin, hosted by Lorestan University.

Also present at this virtual preliminary meeting were Dr. Mostafa Karampour, Head of the Vice-Presidency for Research and Technology of Lorestan University, Dr. Hossein Hatami, Director of Research Affairs of Lorestan University, and Dr. Farmani, Head of the Central Laboratory of Lorestan University.

The Central Laboratory of Lorestan University is on the list of the top laboratories of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology.

The Iranian Laboratory Research Association held this virtual preliminary meeting, hosted by Lorestan University (Central Laboratory).

The central laboratories of universities and higher education institutions in the country and other laboratories in non-governmental and governmental sectors are members of this association.

Some Important Points for Improving Laboratories

Dr. Ya'qub Fathollahi Nanneh-Karan, Director General of the Office of Support and Research Affairs of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, explained in this virtual meeting that, fortunately, Iran is among the pioneers in the field of laboratory system activities.

He elaborated that a specific terminology should be developed and used as a standard laboratory language in the naming of laboratories.

He also considered the issue of the architecture of laboratory spaces in Iran to be important and emphasized that the type of architecture of the country's laboratory spaces should reflect the identity of science and knowledge in the history of the Iranian land.

Protecting laboratory equipment and various discussions related to laboratories were among other topics discussed by Dr. Fathollahi, with an emphasis on ensuring that the laboratory system is completely standardized in every respect.

Dr. Fathollahi also provided explanations on issues related to laboratory safety and also emphasized the need to expand the connection between laboratories and the industrial system.

Also, the introduction of the country's top laboratories on National Laboratory Day is best done by the Iranian Laboratory Research Association.

He spoke about the further improvement of quality and standardization of laboratories.

Dr. Fathollahi called for the expansion of transnational relations between Iranian laboratories and other countries.

Another part of his speech was about the need to utilize the capacity of philanthropists and benefactors to equip and standardize the laboratory system as much as possible.

Expanding communications, collaborations, and interactions between government laboratories and private sector laboratories was another important issue emphasized by Dr. Fathollahi.

The Necessity of Paying More Attention to Laboratories in Less Developed Provinces in the Direction of Progress with Justice

Dr. Ali Nazari, President of Lorestan University and Head of the Basij Organization of Professors of Lorestan Province, in his speech at this virtual meeting, with a demanding approach, called for more attention to the laboratories of the higher education system in less developed provinces.

He commemorated National Laboratory Day and the birth anniversary of Hakim Jorjani and considered wisdom, logic, and rationality as the guides to affairs.

The President of Lorestan University considered the selection of Lorestan University as the virtual host of the National Laboratory Day commemoration meeting as a positive step towards paying attention to the laboratory system of less developed provinces.

The Head of the Basij Organization of Professors of Lorestan Province, citing religious teachings, especially the management style of Imam Ali (AS), considered it a characteristic of justice that more attention should be paid to less developed provinces in the distribution of facilities and infrastructure so that the various capacities of the provinces, including the agricultural and livestock capacities of Lorestan province, can flourish and prosper.

Dr. Ali Nazari explained that the applied and problem-oriented laboratory and research system should be strengthened, and the connection between the laboratory system and industry should be developed and institutionalized.

The President of Lorestan University elaborated that we welcome a more active, dynamic, and well-equipped laboratory system for the progress of the country.

Dr. Ali Nazari stated that the working approach is to equip the laboratories of Lorestan University as much as possible with the support of the Ministry of Science and the Iranian Laboratory Research Association and to have a more effective role in applied research and studies in accordance with the provincial issues and capacities.

It is worth mentioning that in this virtual meeting, Dr. Ali Farmani, Head of the Central Laboratory of Lorestan University, also presented a performance report of the Central Laboratory of Lorestan University in his speech.
