The Vice President's Emphasis on Enhancing the Laboratory System to Support the Knowledge-Based Economy

The National Virtual Conference Commemorating the Birth Anniversary of Hakim Ismail Jorjani and National Laboratory Day, hosted by Lorestan University and featuring speeches by the Vice President and Head of the National Standards Organization of Iran, as well as the Deputy Ministers of Research, Technology, and Innovation of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, was held.
According to the Public Relations Department of Lorestan University, April 19th has been designated as National Laboratory Day, and on this occasion, the Iranian Laboratory Research Association, in collaboration with the Iranian Scientific Laboratories Network (SHA'A) and hosted by Lorestan University, held a virtual conference to commemorate this day.
Dr. Mehdi Eslam Panah, Vice President and Head of the National Standards Organization of Iran, in his speech at this national virtual conference, spoke of the importance of the two wings of the university and industry for the development and progress of the country.
He stated that the country's university laboratory system should expand its practical connections with the country's industrial system.
Dr. Eslam Panah explained that the research and technology departments of the country's industries should expand their bilateral cooperation with the departments of the laboratory system.
The Head of the National Standards Organization of Iran stated: "Research and experiments should be conducted based on the necessary standards, and the standardization system and the improvement of standard indicators should be given more attention than before."
He added: "The way to the country's progress is to pay attention to knowledge-based issues, and this is where the importance of the activities of knowledge-based companies, the university system, and standard variables becomes clear."
Dr. Eslam Panah said: "Technology, knowledge-based economy, and entrepreneurship are institutionalized in society when we can pay attention to the standards of each field, and research should also be of a practical, standard type, and in line with innovation to improve efficiency and productivity."
He stated: "Standardization, productivity, efficiency, and information exchange based on research, investigation, and experimentation are all interconnected elements for the growth and progress of the country in all fields."
